Local media reported that George Zimmerman, the man acquitted in 2013 in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, had yet another encounter with police in Lake Mary, Fla. According to CBS Miami, police said that on Tuesday, a man called them after a truck pulled up next to him and the driver yelled, “Why are you pointing a finger at me?” Police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett says the man recognized the truck driver as Zimmerman, who asked him, “Do you know who I am?” and threatened to kill him.

Orlando Sentinel reported that Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell identified the man as 35-year-old Matthew Apperson of Winter Springs. Apperson did not want to press charges. In his 911 call Tuesday morning, he told dispatchers that he was driving his Honda Accord on Lake Mary Boulevard, made a U-turn and headed west-bound when a Honda Ridgeline truck pulled alongside and someone inside rolled down his window. "George Zimmerman was the driver, and they were threatening to kick my a** and to shoot me," Apperson told the dispatcher, per the Sentinel.

Apperson said he pulled into a store to find a phone and call for help when the Ridgeline made a maneuver to block him and "almost hit my car." The man told the dispatcher that Zimmerman “said he was going to shoot me dead.” As the man was walking into the store, the surveillance cameras caught Zimmerman’s car leaving. However, that wasn’t all. Two days later, the same man called the police again to report that he believed he was being watched and followed by Zimmerman.

After a short investigation, police found George Zimmerman in his car nearby, pulled him over and questioned him. They took a handgun from him but returned it after the police exchange, which seemed amicable according to the patrol dash camera. Zimmerman’s excuse of being in the area was that he had a doctor’s appointment nearby. Apperson declined to press charges again.

This is not the first time Zimmerman has an encounter with the police after the highly publicized Trayvon Martin murder trial. The first one was last year, when his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman told police he had threatened her and her father. Eventually she declined to press any charges. The second incident came after a girlfriend accused him of domestic violence and had Zimmerman arrested. She later changed her story and dropped the charges.
