International model Gisele Bündchen announced her retirement from the runway during her appearance at Sao Paulo Fashion Week earlier this month. The former Victoria Secret’s angel revealed she was walking for the last time while she strutted her stuff for Colcci, the Brazilian street-wear label she has represented since 2005.
“I am grateful that at 34, I was given the opportunity to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business” – said the model on an Instagram post reminiscing her career.
Bündchen is married to NFL's star quarterback Tom Brady, and they have two kids together, Brady and Benjamin. She commented that although she is leaving the runway to spend some quality time with her kids, she is not retiring from all aspects of modeling.
To make that clear, the sexy Brazilian decided to celebrate her 20 years in the industry by appearing completely naked on the 40th anniversary cover of Vogue Magazine in Brazil. The publication dedicated five amazing spreads to Gisele, which were staged around the four elements (air, water, fire, and earth).
The 34-year-old is featured in an artsy black and white cover with gold letters, and as some sources have mentioned, looking very much like a Greek Goddess. The model stated that another reason behind her retirement was her own body telling her she needed to stop, but judging by this cover, I think we would all love it if she sticks around a little longer.
