Sad news for runways all over the world: supermodel Gisele Bündchen will be taking her last bow on the catwalk in her native Brasil, where she was discovered by Elite modeling agency, which is also responsible for Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell’s success. Shortly after, Bündchen got her big break in 1996 when she did her first runway show in New York Fashion Week. The supermodel’s last show will be Colcci’s (one her favorite fashion brands) during Sao Paolo Fashion Week in April. Brasilian fashion publication Moda Estadão broke the news on their Twitter yesterday, and though she will be missed on the runway, we’ll still get to admire her perfect physique as she continues to have millionaire contracts with brands like Oral B and Pantene.

Bündchen had already started scaling back on her runway appearances, instead taking part in high-profile campaigns for Stuart Weitzman, Chanel No. 5, H&M and Balenciaga. Such contracts plus her footwear and lingerie brands have earned her ‘world’s highest-earning model’ title eight years in a row. Reportedly, husband Tom Brady makes around $12MM less than her each year. The mother of two is looking to spend more time with her family and make time to focus on her charity work as UN Goodwill Ambassador, which she’s been since 2009.
