This is beyond frustrating. We've known that the "GTA 5" 1.16 update is expected to launch today, Aug. 12, so why hasn't it? Source code leaks and historic "GTA 5" DLC trends all pointed to a Tuesday release date. Unfortunately, the news update and the 1.16 DLC never came.
Earlier this month, reliable "GTA 5" leakers including Chr0m3xMoDz, DomisLive, and iCrazyTeddy have uncovered a new source code titled "DLC Pack." According to DomisLive, the source code was found the same way as they leaked the "I'm Not a Hipster" and "Independence Day" DLC's. Based on past DLC release dates, source codes are usually found a week ahead of a Tuesday release, which made Aug. 12 the likeliest "GTA 5" 1.16 Update release.
Yesterday, we reported that it is unlikely that the new 1.16 update will be the highly anticipated "GTA 5" Heists DLC. Now, we are concerned as to whether an update will arrive at all. According to YouTuber TypicalGamer, most patches are delivered around 5 to 6 a.m. ET. Because it's already well past morning, TypicalGamer believes that there will not be a DLC until at least next week.
The biggest cause for the "GTA 5" DLC delays are the uncontrollable amount of modded money lobbies. For those unfamiliar, the money lobby involves a modder that hands out as much money to as many players as they'd like. The modded money lobbies cause a disturbance in the GTA 5 game economy and Rockstar Games is doing everything in their power to combat against the outrageous money exploits. While this may sound like an attractive activity to be a part of, money lobby participaters risk getting identified and banned from GTA Online.
At this point, we urge players to refrain from getting involved in money glitches, at least until Rockstar can deliver the long-anticipated "GTA 5" Heists DLC. We expect the "GTA 5" Heists DLC release date to closely follow the release of "GTA 5" on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. According to VG247, the PC, PS4, Xbox One release date is Nov. 14.
