Father’s Day is an occasion to honor fathers and celebrate fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society. This year it falls on June 18, which is the third Sunday of June, date when it’s usually celebrated. Although Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day, it seems only fair that dads get their own day too, since most of them not only provide for their families, but also play a key role in the upbringing of their children.

In some cases, there even are super dads that are father and mother at the same time. Since Father’s Day is right around the corner, we would like to honor them, especially the Latino dads in the US, and that’s why we’ve put together a list of 9 messages in Spanish perfect to surprise your father on his special day.

"Hoy sólo quiero decirte viejo del alma, que eres el ser que más respeto y admiro, por eso te pido con amor y vehemencia, que más que padre, seas mi amigo!"
