"Hart of Dixie" is returning to television on October 7 at 8 p.m. on the CW for its season 3 premiere. The season 2 finale saw Lavone and Annabeth in a relationship, Lemon and Wade working together to get their life together and Zoe decides to spend her summer in New York to run away from her two men: George and Wade. But, of course, for Zoe, New York only adds drama as a potential romance with Lemon's cousin Noah is hinted at in the finale after he shows up to be her date at a wedding.
It is safe to assume that the new season will begin a few months after the season 2 finale and viewers will get to catch up on the lives of their favorite (and not-so-favorite) Blue Bell characters. Does Zoe end up engaging in a relationship with Noah? Will she return back with more clarity on who she loves -- George or Wade? And perhaps just as importantly, are George and Wade still single? Moving up the series a few months can change everything in terms of the lives of the characters and it will be interesting to see how the writers handle that small jump in time. Unfortunately for Zade (Zoe + Wade) fans, there could potentially be a, yet another, new love interest for Zoe. A new character -- played by "Dexter" actor Josh Cooke -- will be introduced during the season premiere as he comes to Blue Bell and he will have a shared history with Zoey: New York. He will play a man who feels out of place in Blue Bell, much like Zoe, and this common factor will bring the two New Yorkers together. Whether their shared past will result in a romantic relationship is still up in the air, but our best bet is that the two will date.
The first two seasons have played up the love triangle between Zoe, Wade and George and this season will finally address the triangle and put the story line aside. Zoe will finally make a decision and then the triangle will dissipate. Curious who she will pick? While there is no clear answer as to who Zoe picks, there are several hints that suggest it will be Wade. First and foremost, Scott Porter (who plays George) has gone on record to say that Zoe and George's attraction to each other is a "borderline unhealthy infatuation."
Not convinced? Consider this: Executive producer Leila Gerstein told TVLine that Wade cheating on Zoe "was never intended to be the end" of their romance and relationship. Actor Wilson Bethel (who plays Wade) has revealed in an interview that Zoe and Wade reunited seems logical for the upcoming season. "It's probably good that there's a bit of anticipation about what she will do" come the fall," said Bethel of the season finale. Bethel even states in an interview with TV Fanatic that he hopes his character finally grows up and will live happily with Zoe.
