The Houston Texans and Denver Broncos collide on Monday Night Football. Both teams are 4-2, and both tams rely on their defense to get the job done. The winner of this game will be in great shape as we head into the second half of the regular season.

Houston Texans (4-2)

Every time it looks like the Texans are done they continue to prove their doubters wrong. They’ve survived injuries, late game deficits and overtime thrillers to retake the AFC South lead. The Texans are the only team in their division that currently have a winning record.

The Texans have the No. 2 ranked pass defense in the league, which is outstanding considering they are missing their best pass rusher. Jadeveon Clowney is playing the best football of his young career, and Vince Wilfork continues to prove that age is just a number.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been added to the team’s injury report because of a hamstring injury, but he is listed as “probable” for Monday’s game. Hopkins leads the team in catches, yards and touchdown grabs, so his value can’t be overstated.

The Texans play the Detroit Lions next week.

Denver Broncos (4-2)

The Broncos are struggling right now having lost their last two games. Regardless, they are still 4-2, and anything short of a Super Bowl is considered a disappointment for this club. The Broncos defense ranks top 10 in just about every category including No. 1 in passing yards allowed.

Von Miller and that pass rush will be the key factor to watch on Monday night. They’re more than familiar with Brock Osweiler’s style of play by now. Considering J.J. Watt isn’t playing, you can bet on Trevor Siemian will have more time than usual to throw in the pocket. That’s going to be extremely critical because Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas will get open if given time.

If C.J. Anderson can find his groove, thus giving the Broncos a balanced attack on offense, Denver should be just fine.

The Broncos play the San Diego Chargers next week.

Schedule

The Texans and Broncos will play each other on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The game will be played at Sports authority Field in Denver, Colorado. You can watch a live game stream here .

Prediction

The Broncos need to win this game far more than the Texans do considering the circumstances. They play in a much more difficult division and they have lost their last two games. Both of these teams know how to play defense, so don’t expect a high scoring affair.

Broncos win 20-17
