With the United States and Mexican National Soccer Teams set to have an all out war on the pitch at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday, Mexican actor, singer, and current LA resident, Jaime Camil, reminds us that our countries are still neighbors and that there's no border between us.

Camil helped the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrate Hispanic Heritage month by uniting both borders as he sang the Mexican National Anthem as well as the Star Spangled Banner before a game against the Colorado Rockies.

"It was beautiful. They told me that this was the first time anyone sang the Mexican national anthem at Dodger Stadium," Camil told Hoy Los Angeles. " I don't know if it's true, but if it is, what an honor, what a great honor."

He as very touched when asked about singing both anthems:

"Important. It's good for our nations and cultures to join together," Camil continued. "Especially, here in Los Angeles where it's more diverse than anywhere else. Tonight, I represent Mexico, but I live and work here. I was very excited and happy to be a part of it."

Camil is no stranger to Hispanic audiences. For years, the actor has become famous throughout Latin America starring in telenovelas like La Fea Mas Bella and more.

In the United States, he won over American audiences with his performance as a Godfather in the Golden Globe-winning comedy Jane The Virgin.

He recently partnered with Eva Longoria and JC Penny for an event that raised money for Longoria's charity, the Eva Longoria Foundation. Camil used to date Latina actress Thalia, and credits her for helping him pursue a career in acting.

The native of Mexico City, also was star struck by another native son, former Dodgers pitcher, and current Spanish language broadcaster, Fernando Valenzuela.

"When I was a kid and I watched the Dodgers, Fernando Valenzuela was the most incredible pitcher," Camil said about meeting the legend. "It was an honor to meet him."

Valenzuela's family was on hand, and they began the game by saying Vin Scully's famous line, "It's Time For Dodger Baseball."

You can see Camil starring in the upcoming season of Jane The Virgin on the CW network this fall starring alongside actress Gina Rodriguez.
