Gucamole is a staple of any great Super Bowl experience. And this year's Super Bowl Sunday is going to be a Super Guac Fest! According to the Hass Avocado Board, 104.2 million pounds of fresh avocados will be consumed in 2014 - that's a whopping 1202.5 percent increase since 2000! And the vast majority of those delish green vegetables will be consumed in the form of guacamole for this year's Super Bowl. Espeically in Latino households, as executive director of the Hass Avocado Board Jose Luis Obregon said, “Guacamole and football go hand in hand.”

So you want to make your own delicious guacamole for Super Bowl Sunday? Never fear, Latin Times has a recipe that is sure to blow your Super Bowl socks off. First the ingredients. Start with 5 avocados, 1 whole red onion, 2 limes, 2 tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 chile, 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of cracked pepper. Chop the onion finely and crush the garlic - mix the two together in the juice from the limes. Let this marinate while you prepare the rest.

Now of course the fun part. Peel and pitt your avocados and place them in a bowl. Take a fork or a potato masher and mash them up good. Take your tomatoes and dice them finely. Add this to you avocados together with the cilantro, salt and pepper. Take the onion and garlic and add this to the mix. Stir everything together firmly and do a taste test - it might need more salt or lime, but that is up to you. Serve with chips or tortillas, switch on the TV and you are good to go.
