Nude lips are nice to sport every now and then but no matter the season, a bold lip is a lot more fun. If you are not used to wearing a bright, bold color then the idea of wearing a bold lipstick is a daunting thought. That's why we spoke with Avon Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren Andersen, who has worked with celebrities like Jessica Alba, and asked her six questions about how to pull off a bold lip color. Check out our Q&A with her, below.

1. Is there a right 'time' to wear a bold lip? Anytime is a great time to show off a bold lip as long as you apply the right color that compliments your skin tone.

2. The typical advice when wearing a bold lip is to pair it with a neutral ensemble. Do you think this advice is still valid? It’s all about personal style. If you dare to be bold and rock it with confidence there are no rules.

3. What colors would you recommend for the following skin shades: fair, olive, dark. For fair skin I recommend Avon Ultra Color Bold Lipstick in Pink Punch or Bold Bordeaux, for olive skin I think Coral Burst goes perfect, and for dark skin tones I recommend Magenta Flash.

4. For girls with thinner lips, what tips do you have for creating more luscious lips? Outlining your lips with a lip liner helps them look fuller. Also, adding lip gloss will help highlight lips and make them look luscious.

5. How can women make their lip color long-lasting? Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with a liner first. If you're using a light lipstick, try a nude liner. Then apply your lipstick on top. New Avon Ultra Color Bold Lipstick has high-impact lip color with 50% more pigment packed into every stick for Avon’s boldest lipstick. Plus it’s moisturizing texture will give you full even coverage that lasts for hours.

6. Flaky skin can make bold lips look sloppy -- what tips do you have for prepping lips before applying lipstick. Flaky skin is a sign of dehydration, so drink plenty of water. I recommend stocking up on a moisturizing lip balm like Avon's Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Moisturizing Lip Treatment Stick. Applying some on your pucker before lipstick will also help it go on smoothly.
