Apple sources reveal iOS 8 beta 4 release date. Apple

Apple is planning to begin mass production of its next iPhone, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, this summer in July. While the 5.5-inch device will begin mass production this fall in September according to Japanese website EMSOne.

According to the report both versions of the smartphones are aiming to launch at some point during the fourth quarter. The smaller, 4.7-inch, iPhone will be announced first with the larger, 5.5-inch, device following.

This news follows a report from Reuters which stated that Apple would begin production on the 4.7-inch display to be used in the iPhone 6 this May. The report also noted that the 5.5-inch version is being delayed because of difficulties with in-cell production technology.

The release date is still speculated but if Apple follows trend we will see the device either September or October. Reports about the launch date vary by different outlets. A report last month from Nikkei stated that the iPhone 6 could launch “as early as September” and both sizes will be available. But a report from USB analyst Steve Milunovich claimed the only device Apple will launch this year will be the 4.7-inch iPhone, the 5.5-inch device still up in the air.

It is also rumored that the iPhone 6 will be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) this summer. Along with iOS 8, new Retina Display MacBook Air’s and a new iPad model.
