Telemundo has confirmed that Angélica Celaya will give life to Jenni Rivera in the bioseries called "Mariposa De Barrio." The network has all the support from the Rivera family as opposed to the series airing on Univision titled "Su Nombre Era Dolores, La Jenn Que Yo Conocí." During the press conference Celaya was thankful for being given the opportunity in the role that is set to be iconic in her career.

"Thank you for giving me the beautiful opportunity to be Jenni Rivera," Celaya said. "For giving me the responsibility and blessing to give life to a woman with so much courage and that will teach us through the screen what it is to be a fighter. Hope Jenni fans accept this lovely homage that we are doing with so much love and that she continues to live on because 'la diva de la banda' lives." Rumors about who was to play Rivera in the Telemundo series have produced many names. At one point it was said Alicia Machado will give in to the role. Previously, it was revealed who would play Jenni Rivera's sister, Rosie. In a recent interview on "Al Rojo Vivo" she presented the actress that would portray her on the small screen. It was announced that Stephanie Arcila would be playing Rosie and would be filming a scene that talks about her abuse by one of her sister's husbands. Rivera also revealed that seeing that moment reenacted was theraputic for her and helped her heal. "I see the young girl and the abuser shows up and I say 'oh my God, someone save her'", she said. "I ended up crying, but it was also like theraphy for me. For many years I didn't love myself but seeing myself as a young girl and that scene, I said, 'I'm going to forgive myself.'"
