We've lost all hope of "Bennifer" getting back together after the chisme that Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart are planning to tie the knot in a private wedding. But that doesn't mean that the former ex couple, J.Lo and Ben Affleck, don't keep in touch. In fact, the Hollywood actor and Puerto Rican songstress are closer than ever!
According to Hollywood Life, Lopez and Affleck have been constantly sending each other messages since his divorce with Jennifer Garner in July. "“Ben and JLo have been talking and texting since he split with Jennifer. Ben never felt he was allowed to maintain a relationship with her as it would only make Jennifer jealous and angry," a close source of the stars told the publication. “When news of him splitting came out JLo reached out to him just to see how he was holding up. Since then they have talked a few times and it’s been really nice."
Though the former celebrity flame is rekindling their bond, it's all meant in good intention. The source revealed that the "Booty" singer, who dated Affleck from 2002 to 2004, is only there to help him cope with his divorce by making him laugh. "Jen knows what its like to go through a rough divorce when you have young children. She also really makes Ben laugh and was always super supportive. She believes in him so it was great for Ben to hear from her when he feels so down and out."
