Rumor: A source claims Jeremy Clarkson may quit BBC and "Top Gear" even if he is asked to return to the show. Reuters

Speculations have gone wild over the past day since BBC announced that Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson is suspended from the corporation after allegedly throwing a punch at a producer. According to reports, Clarkson smacked producer Oisin Tymon across the face after the presenter was told there was no hot food available after a day's filming on a set.

Following Jeremy Clarkson's suspension, BBC also announced that "Top Gear" Season 22 is cancelled and all remaining episodes for the season will not air. That said, both the BBC and Jeremy Clarkson have agreed to make no further comments surrounding the suspension. However, new developments on the situation continue to surface.

According to RadioTimes.com, a source close to Jeremy Clarkson revealed that the relationship between Jeremy Clarkson and the BBC execs have deteriorated so badly that it may not be salvageable. In fact, rumors say Jeremy Clarkson is considering leaving the BBC even if he is cleared of charges and asked to return.

Given the escalating situation, fans of the show are concerned of two things: what happens to "Top Gear"? What's next for Jeremy Clarkson? It is difficult to say at this time but the source that spoke to RadioTimes.com shared the following:

“The last three episodes of this series have been pulled. Can I see him going back to film another BBC series? I don’t think so. But he’ll be fine. The other broadcasters will bite his arm off,” the source said.

Meanwhile, a petition for Clarkson's return to "Top Gear" titled "Bring Back Clarkson" has already received more than 400,000 signatures in less than 24 hours. Also, revisit Jeremy Clarkson's past controversies in our article here. Stay tuned as the story develops.
