Joan Sebastian's legacy will live forever and what better way to prove it than with a new single by El Rey del Jaripeo? A few days after the iconic Mexican singer and composer passed away on July 13 due to his 16-year battle with bone cancer, Sebastian's family announced that a new album will be released posthumously. It's been a bit over a week after we lost the remarkable artist, but his music continues as Sony Music launched the first single released in the absence of Sebastian called "Volvi Pa'l Pueblo."

The Grammy winning artist, who had recently signed with Sony Music Latin, made it clear to his family that he wanted his latest work to be shared with the world. Jose Manuel Figueroa, son of the musical legend known as the Poet of the People, expressed the wishes of his beloved father. "With the help of Sony Music, we want to honor his memory by celebrating his life, his accomplishments and have his songs endure his last horse ride which will be eternal."

“Very few artists have the ability of consistently making hits over the course of a few decades that seep deeply into popular culture. Such is the case of Joan Sebastian," said Nir Seroussi, president of Sony Music Latin in a statement. "A true multidimensional artist with a remarkable career, Joan will continue to be a musical icon for generations to come. We are honored that Joan and his family have entrusted us to carry on his legacy," he added of the successful singer.

The "Tatuajes" singer passed away on July 13 in his ranch located in Juliantla, Guerrero, Mexico. He died at the age of 64.
