It's a rare and precious thing to see two hockey goalies fight. The crowd in Toronto for the Maple Leaf's Sunday night preseason match against the Buffalo Sabres rocked the arena with cheers as the line on the ice engaged in an all-out brawl, even drawing the goaltenders from their respective nets. Gloves littered the ice as the fight started with John Scott going after the Leaf's Phil Kessel after being slashed, sparking a chain reaction of fists, fury and even some stick swinging. At the end of it all, Kessel received a penalty for intent to injure after the slash on Scott, which is an automatic one-game suspension. The 10-man brawl seemingly fizzled out after almost a few heated minutes, but the action sparked back up again with a vengence when Jonathan Bernier dashed to center ice to meet Ryan Miller for a square off.

The two spun each other around for a moment before Bernier took the first hard swing that connected. It appeared that Bernier clearly dominated the fight, landing more punches and dodging hits more effectively than Miller. Miller, however, managed to wrangle Bernier by the jersey and almost slip it over the opposing goaltender's head. The fighting didn't end there as linesmen pulled the two apart, only for more ire to brew in the players as Kessel and Scott returned to their scrap. In came Leafs teammate David Clarkson from over the boards to participate in the action, earning him a whopping 10-game suspension. The carnage halted when the linesmen managed to separate the 6-foot-8 Scott from the smaller Kessel by pinning Scott to the boards. The game ended with a Leafs victory 5-3 and an excruciating amount of penalty minutes.
