Mexican singer Juan Gabriel has been hospitalized in Las Vegas. The “Divo de Juárez,” 64, performed on Monday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and after the show, he was admitted to the Southern Hills Hospital with pneumonia. Apparently Juan Gabriel had been feeling sick since his show in New York, on April 6, but he didn’t want to cancel any of his concerts so he decided to power through.

“He did what he could in Las Vegas. He had already been feeling very ill, but he wanted to come through with the show because that’s who he is. He doesn’t like to leave people hanging, especially his fans,” said his spokesperson. “After the show, it was mandatory to take him to the hospital and he was admitted immediately because doctors diagnosed pneumonia,” the spokesperson added.

Although his condition is delicate, the singer is stable, and will be released from the hospital on April 22. However, according to doctors he will have to rest for 20 more days, forcing Juan Gabriel to cancel his performances at the Feria del Caballo de Texcoco in Mexico on April 22 and 23, shows in Los Angeles on May 1, 3 and 4, his concert in Perú on May 8, another one in Chile on May 10, Argentina on May 12, Paraguay on the 13, Argentina again on the 15 and his show on May 17 in Bolivia.

“Something that is very true is that Juan Gabriel has never canceled a show over sickness. This is the first time. His people are very surprised because he never gets sick,” his spokesperson added. We wish the legendary singer a speedy recovery and hope to see him soon back on stage!
