Dominican showman Julio Sabala had been accused of sexual misconduct for years by former employees of the artist. Gloria Acevedo and Maura Saviñón, accused the comedian of having harassed them, but due to lack of evidence and because this was a case that didn't progress for almost six years, Judge Abby Cynamon, of the court circuit of Dade County, dismissed the accusations.

Dominican newspaper Listin Diario, reported that Acevedo, former administrator of Sabala's office, and Saviñón, who was one of the assistants of the comedian, along with a lawyer, "would have liked to take advantage of the recent cases of harassment in Hollywood."

According to the newspaper, Sabala never gave in to the pressures of the plaintiffs or their legal advisors, who defined the imitator as a "predator" and a "monster" who constantly harassed them with words, disrespected them and sometimes tried to kiss them in a interview for "Primer Impacto."

During said interview, Sabala defended himself making it clear that everything was an extortion with a lucrative purpose. "Here there is an opportunism to put in an inappropriate context something that can put me in a bag that does not belong to me," Sabala said. "I could not accept something that destroys my good reputation backed by thirty years of an unblemished trajectory in that sense," he said.

Julio Sabala was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic as Julio César Sabala de Jesús. He is an actor, known for films like "Contigo," "Encantada de la vida" and "Ven al Paralel," and for being a celebrity impersonator of American and Latin American stars.
