The NFL has been getting heavily criticized for their selection of prime-time games, and it appears as if they are listening to the fans.

According to NFL.com, the AFC East matchup of the New England Patriots against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football for Week 12 has been flexed out for the much anticipated AFC West matchup of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Denver Broncos.

More than likely most NFL fans will agree with this decision by the league.

The Chiefs and Broncos not only represent one of the league’s most heated rivalries, but they are both quality teams whom fans want to watch collide with one another. The Chiefs and Broncos have a combined record of 14-5 thus far. The Oakland Raiders, who are a surprising 7-2, have made this year’s AFC West divisional race very interesting.

The Chiefs will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11. Andy Reid’s squad has the best record in the AFC at 7-2 having won their last five consecutive games. There is also a possibility that we could see Justin Houston make his 2016 season debut after being activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list by the Chiefs.

As for the Broncos, they got a much needed victory over Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. With that win the Broncos improved to 7-3. The defending Super Bowl Champions have had their ups and downs this year with Trevor Siemian taking over for Peyton Manning, and this will be their fifth time on prime time television this year. The last time the Broncos played on Sunday Night Football, they lost to the Raiders, 30-20. The Broncos are just 1-2 in divisional play and they have a bye week in Week 10.

Week 11 is the first time we will see the Broncos and Chiefs face one another this season.
