The death of Karla Álvarez has shocked the Latin show business after her unexpected and sudden death. Kate del Castillo who worked with Karla in 1998 on the Televisa producion of "La Mentira" expressed her sadness towards the loss of the actress. "You left too soon my dear Karla álvarez, you will be missed here," the actress wrote on Instagram with a picture of both of them on the set of the telenovela they co-starred in. "I will never forget the marvelous moments that we lived together. My prayers are with your family." Telenovela queen Thalía, who was the lead of "Maria Merceds" in Karla's first telenovela also expressed her condolences. "Very saddened by the parting of Karlita Álvarez. Great memories of 'María Mercedes.' Prayers for her family. Rest in peace." Aracely Arámbula who worked with the actress in "Alma Rebelde" said, "Deeply saddened today... I feel sorry for the loss of our dear colleague Karla. I love you álvarez and I hug you from here.."

Karla Álvarez had a very public relationship with television host Jorge "El Burro" Van Rankin and he wrote on Twitter, "Regrettable news! May you rest in peace Karla Álvarez!" The Colombian actress, Danna García, who worked with álvarez in two telenovelas, "Un Gancho Al Corazón" and her last production "Qué Bonito Amor," said, "Karlita, you left us... Your happiness will stay with us. I love you wherever you are." Jacky Bracamontes also worked with the actress in two telenovelas, "Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo" and "Heridas de Amor." The untimely death of Karla Álvarez has taken the entertainment world by surprise and more messages of sadness were posted in social networks. Sherlyn who worked with Karla on "Camaleones" wrote, "I will stay with all the beautiful things you left me! You were a great co-worker and a good friend. May God bless you." Ingrid Martz was one of Álvarez's co-stars on "Heridas de Amor" and this is what she had to say: "I lament with all my soul the death of Karla Álvarez. Lets pray for her eternal rest." Maribel Guardia worked on Karla's earlier telenovelas, "Prisionera de Amor" and she said, "Shocked with the death of Karla Álvarez! Heaven has a new angel. We are going to miss you princess." Even singer Olga Tañón was surprised by the news, "I join the mourning of the sudden death of Mexican actress Karla Álvarez. Sad news and so young R.I.P.!"
