Katie Holmes was finally seen smiling, grooving, letting lose and even doing the white girl head bob. She hasn't been seen so happy in such a long time, and many say it was because of Jamie Foxx. The two attended the 4th annual Apollo in the Hamptons benefit in East Hampton, New York on Saturday, Aug. 24. The 34-year-old single actress and the 45-year-old Oscar winner, were spotted dancing on stage and looking very comfortable with each other.

"The Hamptons: A Night of Legends" event, held at Apollo Theater board member Ron Perelman's East Hampton estate, featured live performances by The Roots and Lenny Kravitz, with surprise performances by Darlene Love, Jon Bon Jovi, Ciara, and Pharrell. Other celebrities in attendance at the benefit included Penny Marshall, Anjelica Huston, Mary J. Blige, Billy Joel, Howard Stern, Colin Powell, Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie.

An eyewitness told Us Weekly that Holmes grabbed Foxx and Ellen DeGeneres to join her in rocking out to Lenny Kravitz hits like "American Woman." She also danced along to Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams' "Get Lucky." There were a number of photos that had emerged online with the two getting cozy. One showed Katie's arms in Jamie while the other had Katie's left arms in Jamie's left shoulders, and multiple reports that came after her remarks noted that they "don't doubt" Katie's new-found happiness.

However, sources told The New York Post's Page Six that Holmes and Foxx "are old friends," but the ex-wife of Tom Cruise and mother of 7-year-old daughter Suri was later heard telling two female friends, "I haven't had such a good time in so long." Although the thought of Katie and Jamie being Hollywood's newest couple is very exciting, the two were indeed acting as bff's. The way she kept grabbing his arm was more like a cry for help because her heels were too high and she didn't want to lose balance, instead of a "he's mine, don't even look at him" way.

And although the couple exchanged a few interesting glances, as if they were reading each other's minds, their camaraderie was too obvious and no sexual tension whatsoever filled the space between the two. Maybe in the future their friendship will turn into something more, but for now, the pictures of the benefit will have to do for us.

The star-studded bash raised $3 million for the Apollo Theater, which will benefit the not-for-profit organization's education, community and artistic programs.
