Kehlani has arguably had one of the toughest years in the music industry. After being ridiculed via social media over her Kyrie Irving and PartyNextDoor relationship drama, the singer has finally decided to speak on the all the backlash.

The 21-year-old recently stopped by The Cruz Show to talk about her upcoming projects and of course touch on the backlash for reportedly cheating on Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving with singer PartyNextDoor.

The singer reveals that she is now in a better place. “I’m strong enough, thank God, to be able to talk about it in a positive way,” the singer says. “And only push forward in an inspirational way and not dragging it on or a victimizing type of situation, because I wasn’t a victim. I’m never a victim. I refuse to be a victim.”

Back in March, the singer was bashed on social media for cheating on Irving after PartyNextDoor posted a photo on Instagram with Kehlani in his bed. A month before the picture was posted; the singer posted a photo of her and Irving celebrating Valentine’s Day on Instagram.

A day after PartyNextDoor posted the photo, Kehlani took to Instagram letting the public know that she did not cheat on Irving and that the two had actually broken up prior to the PND photo.

Social media of course erupted with slander and bashed the star. Not being able to handle the entire backlash, Kehlani tried to commit suicide over the rumors.

Irving was pretty mute about the ordeal until the bullying reached an all-time high and the fateful incident. He admitted that the two were in fact broken up when the infamous photo came out.

“It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth,” he tweets. “I do not justify the picture and what dude did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out.”

Now Kehlani has put all the drama behind her and is currently working hard on releasing her debut album.
