Amidst all the problematic surrounding ‘La Gaviota’s’ husband, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, due to all the corruption and violence the country’s facing, Angelica Rivera found herself neck deep in one of the most talked about scandals, where both, Rivera and Peña had to explain how they’d come to purchase a mansion so big and so luxurious, it’s worth over $7MM. The pair found themselves touring Australia and China at the time the news broke, and soon after their return, it seemed like Enrique Peña Nieto put his wife up to explaining to the people of Mexico, she had earned this money with her honest work for Televisa as a telenovela star. After all the scrutiny this brought on La Gaviota, she is reportedly ready to get back to work, and prove to her fans, she’s still has talent.

Now, Rivera is reportedly in the middle of negotiating her big come back alongside novela veteran Fernando Colunga and Alexis Ayala as the evil villain. Sources say Angelica’s goal is to restart her acting career in order to remove herself as much as possible from ‘the mess’ Enrique Peña Nieto is making of Mexico as its President. The First Lady is also hoping the move will restore her relationship with her loyal fans who have believed in her since the beginning of her career.

After Rivera delivered a controversial speech, clarifying the origins of the monumental mansion she was in process of purchasing, she concluded by sharing her plans to sell the luxurious residence as she had only achieved to pay less than 30 percent at that point and hoped to end the offenses it’s been bringing to her family. “I want to communicate I have decided to sell the rights of the contract because I don’t want this to continue being an excuse to offend and bring defamation to my family.”
