Labor Day weekend is a precious time to bid farewell to summer, and enjoy the last of the hot and humid beach weather, so while we at Latin Times urge you to the hit the beach, light up your barbeque and spend time with family on your holiday weekend we also want to remind you the shop! Well, bargain shop that is, because Labor Day weekend has some of the best deals of the season on certain items, and if any winter was last indication it’s going to be a long and cold wait until we get to bask in the sun and sales again next year. Big ticket items get a serious price chop during Labor Day sales, mainly because a new seasons comes new styles and collections, if you want to shop this weekend you will get the most bang for your buck on cars, mattresses, and furniture, particularly outdoor patio sets!
First things first, and most expensive things first—cars. Many automobile manufacturers are offering great deals this holiday weekend, including extras like zero percent financing deals for five to six years, in addition to several cash back bargains. Chevy is celebrating Labor Day by offering zero percent financing for six years on most 2014 models in dealer stock through September 2, also if you purchase over the holiday weekend you wont have to make a payment for 90 days. Like Chevrolet, Ford is offering consumers Ford is also offering no-interest financing for six years on various 2014 models. Kia is offering $500 Labor Day bonus cash on the 2014 and 2015 Optima or 0.9 % financing and $1,000 bonus cash on the 2015 Sorrento through the weekend. And combining both of these deals is Buick the automaker is offering consumers zero percent financing for five years for all 2014 models, plus at least $500 bonus cash or at least $500 bonus cash on top of existing cash back incentives through Labor Day!
Like cars, mattresses are expected to receive a huge price cut this weekend, with prices being almost 60% off the original! Macy’s is advertising it’s lowest mattress prices of the season, with most of the prices being halved, the department store is also offering free “5-Star Delivery” with any $789 mattress set purchase. Sleepy’s may even be having a better sale, with every mattress in the store being up to 50% off with free delivery for all online and in store purchases above $599.99. Sealy, Serta and Simmons Queen sets are starting at just $299.99! Sears is offering its customers similar deals with mattress prices being 50-60% off, however Sears has some “Super Hot Deals” on King sized mattresses for a staggering, $456.24.
As for furniture, if you have been waiting all summer to buy new patio furniture this may just be our chance. According to US News, Labor Day weekend has historically offered some of the cheapest prices of the year for backyard items. Discounts are on average between 50-60% off with barbeque grills, deck umbrellas and other backyard accessories also receiving markdowns. Lowe’s is offering 25-75% discounts on patio furniture and accessories, while also promoting 20% Char-Broil Commercial Series grills. Kmart is offering 70% off patio furniture and outdoor décor, and is offering free shipping on all ordered over $49.99.
