A night of excitement and musical explosions was what made the Latin AMAs 2017 on Telemundo. CNCO (4), Prince Royce (4) and Enrique Iglesias (3) emerged as the night’s top winners. The award show opened with the fashionable and glamorous arrival of the stars on the red carpet at the iconic Hollywood Boulevard, as they made their way into the prestigious Dolby Theatre where the awards ceremony was hosted by millennial actress and Latin music phenomenon Becky G and international actor and singer Diego Boneta.

Pop music sensation CNCO won four awards including Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock. Their album “Primera Cita” received awards for Album of the Year and Favorite Album – Pop/Rock; while their song “Reggaeton Lento (Bailemos)” won in the Favorite Song – Pop/Rock category. Prince Royce also won four awards including Favorite Artist – Tropical. His album “Five” earned the award for Favorite Album – Tropical, while his collaboration with Shakira, “Déjà vu,” earned awards for Song of the Year and Favorite Song – Tropical. Enrique Iglesias took home three awards including the coveted Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock. His song featuring Descemer Bueno, Zion & Lennox, “Súbeme La Radio” received the award for Favorite Collaboration.

J Balvin was named Favorite Artist – Urban and his album “Energía” was awarded for Favorite Album – Urban. World-renowned artist Pitbull received the first ever “Latin AMA Dick Clark Achievement Award”. The distinction was handed out to the Latin artist for inspiring all of humanity with his dedication to music and because he has used his fame and influence to help those in need. Ozuna emerged as “Latin AMAs” New Artist of the Year.

The “Latin AMAs” honors artists in the genres of Pop/Rock, Regional Mexican, Urban, and Tropical, as well as categories for Favorite Crossover Artist, Favorite Collaboration, New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, among others. The “Latin AMAs” nominees are based on key fan interactions with music, including (but not limited to) sales, airplay, streaming and social activity tracked by Billboard through its data partners Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.
