Laurie Hernandez has become America's sweetheart after her impressive performance with the Team USA Gymnastics squad and now with her amazing performances on the hit show "Dancing With The Stars." While Hernandez is only 16-years-old, she is showing up and showing out like any adult would.

According to E Online, Hernandez has been performing extremely well earning two perfect scores during week 10 of the competition. However, behind the scenes, the gymnast has been dealing with the loss of her grandmother which has transferred over to an emotional performance with her partner Val Chmerkovisky.

"The last three months have been a ridiculous roller coaster for this girl. I forget that she's 16. All of this is pretty hard for me and I have half the load of the pressure and I'm also twice her age. It's pretty incredible…I'm so proud of her…Tonight I feel like was a different level," Val said.

The pair performed a foxtrot routine to Tori Kelly's hit song "Hollow" and later performed with Chmerkovisky's brother Maksim for their trio samba routine.

The gymnast who admits that she has not had any formal dancing training as she focused on athletics admits that she has discovered ways to utilize dance to channel her feelings.

"I just went out there and just gave it my all, I kind of look at dance as a way to express my emotions and my feelings," Laurie told E! News after the show. "Instead of having to say anything I was able to dance my way through it. It was kind of like a way for me to let it go. I feel like a totally different person. I feel like I've grown up a couple of years. It's been amazing. I've met some amazing people including big bro over here. This journey has been incredible. I'm never going to forget it."

As the competition dwinndles down, Laurie and Val are the fan favorite to take home the championship this season.

You can catch "Dancing With The Stars" Mondays at 8p.m. on ABC.
