‘Legend Of Korra’ Season 3 Release Date News: Production Team Reveals 6 Episodes Are Complete, 7 More To Go!

Lately, news about “The Legend of Korra” season three have been scarce but new information has emerged that lets us know production is well on its way. Recently composer Jeremy Zuckerman and sound designer Benjamin Wynn were featured on the podcast “Republic City Dispatch” where they mentioned just how far along production is for season three of the hit-animated series. During the podcast Zuckerman revealed that, as of Feb. 3, at least six episodes of “The Legend of Korra” Book 3: Change have been completed.

"Book 2 had its share of problems production-wise, you know, with animation studios issues and things like that," said Zuckerman in the podcast. "Now they've really got it together and it seems to have momentum now.” This is great news seeing how the upcoming season is just 13 episodes.

Last year co-creator Bryan Konietzko affirmed fans that there would be much less of a wait for the third season's premiere date and it looks like he’s keeping to his word.

"The premiere date hasn't been pinned down, but we are on track to airing Book 3 with MUCH less of a wait than the unfortunate one there was before Book 2 aired. We are all incredibly excited for you all to see the new book," said Konietzko on his official Tumblr blog.

Additionally, "The Legend of Korra" design team won an Annie Award for Production Design in TV for Book Two episode 10 "A New Spiritual Age.” "Every day I am blown away by their talent, dedication, and enthusiasm, so it is nice to see the animation community recognize their work as well," said Konietzko. "Congrats to this awesome team!" added Michael DiMartino.

Meanwhile last month a teaser trailer focusing on Avatar Korra emerged online. The trailer shows Korra, who appears to be facing a considerable amount of trouble in balancing her diplomatic duty. We also see the Avatar facing off against members of the White Lotus, as well as a group of people dressed in green, perhaps earth benders who have yet to be featured in the series. There is a shirtless Tenzin doing some air bending, a brief view of Bumi and last but not least dragons! If you missed it check out the trailer below.
