To commemorate the life of Leonard Nimoy we want to share some of the best episodes from the series he was most famous for, "Star Trek." Check out our list below and if we missed an episode you think should make the cut let us know in the comment section below:

1. "This Side of Paradise"

This is perhaps one of the best episodes to showcase Spock. After he is freed of the spores, a heartbroken Leila tells him that she doesn't even know if he has another name. The regretful Vulcan back in control of his emotions responds "You couldn't pronounce it." Leaving thousands of fans in tears.

2. "The City on the Edge of Forever"

The tragic aspects of this story are very deep, as are the performances across the board -- particularly in the episode's final moments. William Shatner's tortured decision, DeForest Kelley's shock at his friend's actions on the road, and Leonard Nimoy's knowing acceptance at what must be done.

3. "Mirror, Mirror"

This is another alternative reality story, which was groundbreaking during its first run on TV. It's great fun seeing evil versions of the Trek crew but also some of their not-so-evil parallels, like Goatee Spock.

4. "The Naked Time"

The crew becomes contaminated with the Psi 2000 virus, their inner-selves begin to show through uninhibited acts of emotion like Spock's half-breed identity crisis, Sulu's secret swashbuckler and Kirk's love of his ship over all.

5. "Where No Man Has Gone Before"

Kirk is endowed with psychic abilities and must make a difficult call: leave his friend to die on a desolated world or risk the safety of his ship and crew. The classic dynamic between Spock and Kirk come into play as the Vulcan used his cold hard logic to make a decision.
