Lucero is a legend in telenovelas having starred in many classics like "Lazos De Amor," "Los Parientes Pobres," "Por Ella Soy Eva," "Soy Tu Dueña" and many more. Now the Mexican star is going to take in a new challenge that will transport her to Brazil and make her act in a whole different language. Lucero will have to brush up her Portuguese skills as she has been cast in a remake of "Carita De Angel" which will be called "Carinha De Anjo" in Portuguese. The actress found much success recently after "Soy Tu Dueña" aired in the South American country with high viewership. Lucero is set to play the mother of the little orphan girl that appears in her imagination.

Confirming the news, Lucero took to her Facebook page to acknowledge this new adventure in her career. "Every project that I decide to participate in is a new challenge, full of hope, love and commitment," she wrote in Portuguese. "This invitation from SBT to participate in 'Carinha De Anjo' is a dream come true to continue crossing barries and allowing me to get closer to my fans from different cultures. This is a beautiful project that I am very proud to be part of. I am thankful to Fernando Pelegio, Vicente and all the people at SBT that are turning this dream into a reality. I am thankful to Silvio Santos for always being close to his viewers. It will be an unforgettable experience and I am sure my fans that don't speak Portuguese will have the opportunity to learn and enjoy the novela with my fans from Brazil, Portugal and all the countries that speak Portuguese."

The Brazilian production will mark the return of Lucero to telenovelas. She has been away from acting since concluding production on "Por Ella Soy Eva" in 2012. Since then she had focused on hosting duties at award shows like "Latin Grammys" and the reality show "El Artista." Next up, Lucero will perform during the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2016.
