Laura Bozzo knows a thing or two about being involved in a scandal and having social media tear them apart. The Televisa talk show host has come out to defend Lucero after the animal hunting scandal. "In Televisa we are all family and generally within a family we respect each other," the Peruvian talk show host said. "I have great respect for Lucero and this has surprised me a lot." However, Bozzo claims she is an animal activist and does not condone what Lucero did further adding, "I am an enemy of hunting and I don't even kill a fly because I absolutely love animals." She also recounted an incident that involved her pet dog. "The day my dog had an accident I carried him and that is something I will never forget. I arrived full of blood and people thought something had happened to me," she said. "I am completely against the hunting of animals, bull fighting, like I am against (it is my personal opinion) everything that involves harming an animal."

Lucero has been surrounded by the scandal after a set of personal photos were leaked to the media. A Mexican tabloid magazine published the pictures and have created a dent on the career of the Teleton host. Due to the aftermath of the situation, Lucero was forced to cancel her appearance on the prestigious Viña Del Mar Music Festival in Chile. "In the name of the Viña del Mar International Music Festival, we would like to inform you that the singer and actress Lucero has decided to cancel her participation in the next edition of the competition," read the statement releasedby Chilevisión. "The reason for this decision has not been exposed by the singer's manager, Ernesto Fernández. The reason is the media uproar originated by the publishing of photos from the artist's personal life that have put at risk her security and public image."
