Luis Gerardo Mendez is best known for starring in the Netflix series of "Club de Cuervos." The Mexican actor recently became a topic of conversation when he was recorded talking to a suitor that was interested in having a threesome. Mendez met the guy online and invited him over to his hotel room to have a sexual encounter with him and his boyfriend. The anonymous person was first hesitant to go, but Luis Gerardo tried to convince him by telling him he would pay the taxi to the hotel and back to his home.

"The room is amazing and you are very delicious and we'll have a good time," Luis Gerardo is heard saying in the leaked audio. The conversation is extremely graphic as they go back and forth as to what their expectations of each other are in the sexual encounter. It all ends with both agreeing to a time to meet. Although Luis Gerardo Mendez is not openly gay, he did once gloss over the topic of infidelity in the gay community with a magazine. "If the agreement is that you can sleep with anybody, there are no problems, but if it's not, it's not cool," he said. "I was not faithful to many, I struggled a lot with it, but I have redeemed myself." Mendez used the masculine word of "muchos" instead of "muchas," which the latter would refer to women.

Luis Gerardo Mendez was one of the actors in Manolo Caro's "Elvira" where his character has an adventure with a complete stranger. This is what he said about that topic: "I used to be all about intellectual and philosophical chats at school, but one of my drama teachers once told me to shut up and go live, which I took very seriously. I think as an actor it’s important to let life surprise you with adventures and unknown people. Nowadays, I think things through before doing stuff like that. I think I’ve had my share."
