Season 5 of "Rica Famosa Latina" has not started airing yet, but a scene from the new season has gone viral that left Luzelba Mansour getting over thirty stitches according to TMZ. Mansour was taping a scene with newcomer Patricia De León in a restaurant in Los Angeles. From what we gathered there's a rumor going around in the show that Patricia is having an affair with her sister's husband, gossip that another fellow newcomer Mimi Lazo passed on to Luzelba. The latter lost it when De León brought up Luzelba and Mimi's ages, shading them for being old. Luzelba threw water at her and Patricia retaliated throwing a glass cup at her and injuring her brutally. The new bloody fight is part of the new season set to premiere in September. Cast of Season 5 of "Rica Famosa Latina" includes the return of Niurka Marcos, Luzelba Mansour and Sandra Vidal and the addition of Mimí Lazo, Scarlet Ortiz, Ninette Ríos and Patricia de León. Bloody fights are not new to the show and before the start of Season 4, Victoria del Rosal and Sandra Vidal had an encounter that left both of them injured. They each threatened to quit the show and file lawsuits, but they continued taping the remaining of the season and no word on the lawsuits. The "bloody fights" are becoming a trend right before the start of a season: Is it a coincidence or a marketing strategy to create buzz?
Earlier this year Sissi Fleitas announced she was leaving the show after three seasons. The "My Life Is A Telenovela" star made it official on her social media account. "I will not be on the show," she wrote in an Instagram post with fellow cast mates Luzelba Mansour and Sandra Vidal. "We didn't reach an agreement and there are new things in my personal and professional life that now occupy my time. I know that the new casting is coming along great and that they will be able to entertain all of you at the level of production that characterizes 'Rica Famosa Latina.'"
Also departing for Season 5 were Andrea García, Victoria del Rosal and Mayeli Rivera. The latter is going to star in another reality show with her husband Lupillo Rivera that will air on Univision later this year.
It was rumored that Geraldine Bazán, Gabriel Soto's wife, was joining Season 5 of the Estrella TV reality show. She was even seen in photos taping scenes with Niurka, but when the new cast was announced, Bazán was not part of the crew. According to Diario Basta, Bazán got upset that the other girls kept bringing up the drama between her husband and Marjorie De Sousa as "she was not up for having her family exposed with rumors that affected her relationship." Producers reportedly met with Geraldine to come up with a resolution, but she opted to quit the show. There's no word if the scenes she shot with Niurka Marcos will air or if they would be cut completely.
