Maluma got killed on social media…again! The Colombian singer’s death was reported on a fake CNN account on Wednesday afternoon. “The entertainment world is mourning. Rest in peace Maluma. Maluma has died in a terrible car accident, source confirmed,” read the alleged CNN Mundo post.

According to the news outlet impostor, the Zacatecas police department announced the 22-year-old urban star’s death after one of his concerts in Mexico. Fortunately for all his fans around the world, it was a hoax.

Maluma took to social media to inform his followers that he was alive and kicking. “This is like the fifth time they kill me this month, the fifth! But no, I’m alive and in Bogotá, Colombia. I had just landed when I heard the news, and I am happier than ever. Don’t believe what they are saying, I’m alive, alive!” the “La Temperatura” performer said in a video he posted on Instagram.

The singer, who has been crazy busy with his tour and promoting his new single with Thalía, “Turn the Heat Up,” for the last couple of months, is currently enjoying some family time in his native Colombia. “I can’t believe I get to wake up next to my princesses today,” he captioned a photo next to his mom and his sister.

Even though we are not quite sure if he is taking some time off to spend time with his loved ones, or if he is just stopping by the country to carry on with his tour, we are glad to hear he is alive and doing what he loves most.

A few days ago, Nicky Jam was also a victim of a death hoax on Facebook. “They’ve killed me. My God, social media sure takes advantage of yellow journalism. That which nourishes us, also destroys us, that’s life. I will go when God wants me to go. We are still active. Cheers my people!” the reggeatonero wrote on one of his personal websites to clarify the rumor.
