Manny Machado has been ejected from the Orioles vs. Athletics match after throwing his bat in the direction of the A's Fernando Abad. The previous pitch had nearly struck Machado in the knee - it has been suggested that the pitch prompted Machado to toss his bat dangerously close to Abad. Howeer, Machado has insisted the toss was an accident: "The bat slipped out of my hands," he said. "Trying to make contact and the umpire thought it was intentional and he tossed me at that point."

Manny Machado's throw prompted an altercation between himself and pitcher Steven Vogt. Both teams soon joined in on the fight with both benches soon clearing and assembling around the batter's mound. According to SB Nation, "No punches were thrown, but it doesn't seem likely that either side will forget about these incidents for some time." Tensions have been high between both sides, however, they will have until July 18th to cool off.

Manny Machado has been at the center of a tense Baltimore-Oakland confrontation since Friday night. According to Yahoo Sports, Machado objected to what he perceived was an aggressive tag by Josh Donaldson and immediately tossed his helmet in Donaldson's direction, causing the benches to empty." The Orioles found themselves frustrated at not being able to make ground against the A's, eventually losing 11-1 and forcing tensions to boil over.
