The unstoppable Mariah Carey is filming her upcoming docuseries “Mariah’s World,” plus planning her wedding to fiancée James Packer. The good news is that one will fit into the other, since US Weekly reports the singer’s team wants the nuptials to be part of the TV show.
Although the “Sweet Fantasy” singer refuses to call the TV special a reality show, it’s pretty obvious that that’s what it is. “Her manager is a reality TV producer and got her the deal,” a second source previously told Us Weekly. And another source added that it will probably be hilarious because Carey is “very funny on camera.”
Mariah got engaged last January, when her Australian casino billionaire boyfriend reportedly proposed very romantically in a private dinner in New York. Packer presented the songstress with a 35 carat diamond ring, asked her to be his wife and she said yes!
This will not be the first time the songstress walks down the aisle, as Carey’s been previously married twice; the first time to music mogul Tommy Mottola and the second time to Nick Cannon, the father of his 4-year-old twins, Monreo and Morocco.
Things moved pretty fast for the couple who have only been dating since last May. Packer and Carey moved in together only five months after that. “Mariah did move into his home but is still keeping her home as well,” a source told E! Entertainment at the time.
At the time, (and as per usual these days) the internet exploded along with Carey’s news and the memes surfaced almost immediately. In fact, there was one in particular that ex-husband Cannon found funny and posted on social media along with a congratulatory message for the newly-engaged couple: "Ha! This made me laugh out loud for real!!! HILARIOUS! #AllLove Congrats to @MariahCarey and James! May God Bless Your Future Union... #GreatPeople #GreatCouple"
