Marvel "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." ABC

The long hiatus for ABC's hit comic book drama "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" is almost over! The mid-season premiere titled "Aftershocks," will arrive March 3 on the network. When the show returns next month we know that Thor's Lady Sif will make an appearance.

According to TV Insider Thor's Jaimie Alexander will be returning in the next episode following the mid-season premiere. Lady Sif again comes to earth and lands in the company of Coulson and team. However, this time around it seems as if she has been stricken with a case of amnesia after battling a soon to be revealed villain. Check out what executive producer Jeffrey Bell had to say about Lady Sif’s return to the show:

“[W]e’re going to have fun with that… It’ll give us some much-needed humor in a season that’s been full of betrayal and death.”

The second part of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is sure to be action packed and filled with Easter eggs and connections to the Marvel universe, you just gotta keep your eyes pealed. Check out these other exciting details to look forward to when the series returns to the air next month along with the action packed promo trailers!

1. The connection to the cinematic Marvel universe continues with Skye's new power and their connections to Marvel's Inhumans.

2. As well as Skye's story playing a part in shaping the Marvel's Inhumans universe it seems Asgard will also play a role. Jeffery Bell said:

“We’ve been dealing a lot with space aliens and Inhumans in our last few episodes—things our Earth-bound heroes just don’t know much about… They need help understanding what’s really going on. Sif’s memory—what’s left of it—will come in very handy.”

3. TVLine confirms that Luke Mitchell will be joining the agents as an Inhuman. He will play a crucial role in the series, in particular, help Skye with understanding the true extent of her transformation.

4. There was also some speculation whether "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" and "Agent Carter" will overlap in their plots as both are shows by Marvel on ABC. However, Michele Fazekas, executive producer of "Agent Carter", made it clear in an interview with Comic Book Movie, that the only overlap will be the last scene of "Agent Carter" where Howard calls Peggy and tells her to run S.H.I.E.L.D.

5. Edward James Olmos will guest star and play Robert Gonzales, whose debut this spring in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
