In Cancun, a mob of enraged Mexicans broke into a Russian man's apartment and attacked him violently with sticks and rocks. The man, who calls himself "Lord Nazi Ruso" became "famous" for his derogatory videos about the country and its people. During the confrontation, the Russian, identified as Aleksei Makeev stabbed a 19-year-old man, who later died from his injuries.

According to Infobae, the Benito Juarez municipality police rescued the Russian, after the mob stormed his apartment. In the videos published by Mexican media, the voices of the attackers can be heard shouting "You are going to die" and "I'll cut your head" as they approached Makeev.

Makeev had posted derogatory comments on the Internet about residents of the area, sparking anger. The Prosecutor's Office said in a statement that the 42-year-old man remains hospitalized and detained, while another young man died while receiving medical attention.

Sputnik News informed that the Russian Consul in Mexico City, Dmitry Bolbot, said Makeev is in a drug-induced coma and paralyzed. "He is in drug-induced coma, he received a major brain injury, he is paralyzed," Bolbot said. According to the consul, Russia's embassy is taking care of Makeev. Bolbot also told Sputnik that Makeev received the residence permit in Mexico as a refugee.

Authorities said Makeev made videos of himself insulting people in public places, speaking in Russian, English and Spanish. Makeev worked for Aquaworld, a company that offers sea tours in Cancun. Aquaworld said in a statement on Facebook that he had been fired from their payroll in November 2015 because of his aggressive behavior.

The Mexican National Institute of Migration said in a statement that multiple complaints had been filed against Makeev and that they were seeking the cooperation of Russian authorities to deport him.
