Mexico's Pena Nieto backs Obama immigration reform push

Mexico and the United States have pledged to improve the dialog between both countries when it comes to transport, including highways, train and maritime transportation between both countries. Mexico's Transport and Communications Secretary revealed on Sunday that its leader, Gerardo Ruiz Esparza, initiated the conversation with his American counterpart Susan Kurland, the Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs of the Department of Transport.

According to a statement released by the Mexican Transport Secretary, Kurland emphasized the importance of these meetings at the highest level, explaining that they allow both countries to advance in areas of transport and communication that affect both nations. Sub-secretary of infrastructure, Raul Murrieta Cummings, sub-secretary of Transport, Carlos Almada Lopez, and the coordinator general of Ports and Merchant Marines, Guillermo Ruiz de Teresa attended the meeting.

Representing the American Department of Transport were assistant secretary for transportation policy Caitlin Rayman; Ron Hynes, Director of Safety Assurance and Compliance, Federal Railroad, Lonnie Kishiyama, Director of the Office of International Activities and John Sammmis, Minister Counselor for Economic and Environment, Science, Technology and Health at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. Members of both delegations spoke of goals to be achieved between both countries.
