The last time Mexico took the pitch in international competition, they were crowned the champions of the CONCACAF region in the 2015 Gold Cup.

One of the matches along that road to El Tri's seventh Gold Cup trophy was a 4-4 shootout draw with Trinidad and Tobago in the final match of group play.

Those two teams took to the pitch again on Friday night in Sandy, Utah and picked up where they left off with another fast-paced, high-scoring sensational match.

Jonathan Glenn, Keron Cummings and Joevin Jones all scored for Trinidad and Tobago, but they blew a 3-2 lead late as Hector Herrera found the equalizer for Mexico and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Carlos Esquivel also scored for El Tri in front of the largest crowd at Rio Tinto stadium for an international match. Daniel Cyrus scored an own goal for Trinidad and Tobago, giving Mexico their three goals on the night.

The game featured the debut of new Mexico coach, Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti, who is also the manage of Tigres U.N.A.M.

Herrera's fantastic strike in the 85th minute was blasted by Herrera after a corner kick from Esquievel sent the ball into the midfielder. It was an impossible to block shot as Herrera found the top left corner of the net from outside the box.
