Mexico Vs USA: El Tri Announce Injury-Related Changes to Official Roster; Can They Win without ‘Gio’?

Giovani Dos Santos is out for two to three weeks, so he has been ruled out of Saturday’s massive CONCACAF Cup clash between US and Mexico. This match is presented by Scotiabank, between the North Americans and Mexicans is sold out with over 90,000 fans expected at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The winner of this extreme game will earn a berth in the prestigious FIFA Confederations Cup, to be played in Russia in 2017.

For Mexico Dos Santos, who plays at LA Galaxy USA is out for the official roster and he will out with his club team as well. LA head coach Bruce Arena’s remarks on the Mexican international’s injury during the week. “We don’t know the extent of how long he will be out. He will be out anywhere from two to three weeks, but you never know with these injures.” Arena said.  “Gio” will be replaced for today's match by Javier Guemez.

El Tri Head Coach, Ricardo “El Tuca” Ferretti is pretty sure that Mexico has a good team, and he is sure that this game will be a good one with or without Dos Santos. Predictions favored Mexico with a victory 2-1 over US. The fitness of Rafael Marquez could be the key to this match. He may old, but still has a powerful and playmaking from the back. He is the only player that can excel at the center of three center-backs to give Mexico the chance to play a formation that provides its best chance of victory.

The confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) announced an injury-related roster change for the United States for the 2015 CONCACAF Cup.  In line with CONCACAF Cup Regulations, teams are have until 24 hours before the match to replace players who sustain a documented injury or illness being after being named to the final 23-player roster. The following changes have been approved for the United States, player out is Alejandro Bedoya and will be replaced by Bobby Wood.
