Miguel Gurwitz is the latest Televisa personality to be rumored to jump ship to Telemundo. More and more stars are making the migration as the Hispanic network is expanding its presence in Mexico, offering jucier contracts and producing original content. At the Upfront's weeks ago, a trio of telenovelas were announced starring actresses that were made famous thanks to their work with the Mexican powerhouse. Ludwika Paleta, Aracely Arámbula and Lucero are the new faces of the network. The singing of Gurwitz comes as Telemundo preps to assemble a sports team of commentators leading up to the World Cup in 2018. The network secured the rights to airing the soccer event and nabbing them from Univision.

Although it hasn't been confirmed, it is rumored that Gurwitz notified Televisa Deportes boss Javier Alarcón that he signed a contract with Telemundo. This would entail the sports reported to move to the States and compete with Univision, which is allied with Televisa. Initially Alarcón seemed to have taken the news well, but after it settled he was not seemingly ok. He was supposed to say goodbye to the team on air and make the announcement that he was leaving. Gurwitz has a contract with Televisa and was expected to finish his duties working at the Mexican league finals and the friendly match between Mexico and Guatemala in Chapas that will be the sendoff to Copa América. If the rumor holds to be true his last day working for Televisa would be on May 30.

Televisa Deportes has been on a downward spiral losing its edge to competitor Azteca. Just last year Enrique "El Perro" Bermudez, following the World Cup, left the sports team to join Univision. The change wasn't too rough as the popular soccer narrator left for a network that is affiliated to Televisa. With Gurwitz moving on to Telemundo, he would actually be competing with his former co-workers. Miguel Gurwitz was the unofficial second-in-charge when Alarcón was not present. Now the spot is up for grabs, but who will take it?
