Just a week after the 0.15.4 update for “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition” and “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” was released, the spotlight is now focused on the 0.16.0 update for the “Pocket Edition,” with fans guessing the new features the upcoming update will offer.

On Wednesday, Mojang AB member Tommaso Checchi confirmed via social media that the next update would indeed be 0.16.0, as reported by Neurogadget.

Unfortunately, the “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” developer did not leak details about the upcoming update, since he is currently busy catching some pocket monsters on “Pokémon Go.”

However, his followers were quick to give their two cents on what features and add-ons the 0.16.0 update will be bringing to the popular game.

Out of the many responses to Checchi’s latest tweet that mentions the upcoming update, @GerardRadwan’s post is the most striking since it comes with a comprehensive list on what fans can expect from the “Pocket Edition” update.

The list mentioned custom resource pack UI, ocean monuments, new options menu, igloos, polar bears, elder guardian, new water texture and frost walker enchantment.

By the looks of things, the 0.16.0 update will be bringing more content to the game than the 0.15.4 update which only came with a villains skin pack, performance tweaks and bug fixes, according to MSPowerUser.

Still, the 0.15.4 update deserves some credit because it came with support for the Oculus Rift VR headset. This means gamers can now play their favorite app in virtual reality.

It is worth noting that the Oculus Rift is not the first headset to enable “Minecraft” in virtual reality. That credit actually goes to the Samsung Gear VR, which was announced to have VR support for the famous game back in April, as pointed out by The Verge.

“Minecraft: Pocket Edition” 0.16.0 update is slated for a fall release, with Mojang still mum about the exact release date.

“Minecraft” is a sandbox video game developed and published by Mojang. It was bought by Microsoft in 2014.
