Actress Naya Rivera was over the moon when she wed actor Ryan Dorsey. After her heartbreaking split from raper Big Sean, the "Glee" actress believed that her marriage would last. It is now being reported that Rivera has filed for divorce!
According to Us Weekly, Naya Rivera has decided to file for divorce from Ryan Dorsey after two years of marriage. The couple who tied the knot in July 2014, the original date set for her wedding to rapper Big Sean, were only dating for three months before their nuptials.
The Los Angeles County Court confirmsed tothe site that the Glee actress filed divorce documents on November 15 and is seeking primary physical custody of their 14-month-old son, Josey, with visitation rights for Dorsey.
The wedding was much of a surprise to many of their friends and family who had no idea about their budding relationship.
“Naya didn’t tell most of her friends that she was marrying Ryan Dorsey, let alone that she was dating him!” a source told Us at the time of their discreet nuptials. “The whole thing is a complete surprise.”
Many of her closed friends believed that since Rivera was deeply hurt by her past relationship with Big Sean, she may have rushed the marriage. The actress has been very open about finding out that not only was she no longer getting married to the rapper, but that he also cheated on her with his now ex-girlfriend, singer Ariana Grande.
“I learned that I was no longer getting married from the internet, and at the same time as the rest of the world," Rivera shared in her memoir, recalling how Big Sean’s publicist issued a statement that they had split at the time. "Not only were we no longer getting married, but apparently we weren’t even together anymore.”
TMZ reports that the rapper broke off their relationship because he felt like she was too controlling. Just recently he also bashed Rivera in a new song "No More Interviews" saying that she has had multiple plastic surgeryprocedures and that she didn't tell the truth about their situation.
We wish these two the best. Hopefully this divorce doesn't get messy.
