"NCIS" Season 11 Episode 2 ("Past, Present and Future") airs on Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2013) on CBS at 8:00 PM ET/PT. If you miss the episode, you can catch it in its entirety for free on CBS or Hulu the next day. According to CBS, this episode will involve Tony going to Israel to find Ziva while Gibbs and the team look for Parsa and his associates. CBS reveals: "Determined to find Ziva, Tony follows leads in Israel; Gibbs and the team continue their search for Parsa and his expanding terrorist ring." This season 11 premiere of "NCIS" set the scene for Ziva's departure and tonight's episode, "Past, Present and Future," will be Ziva's last episode. Actress Cote de Pablo revealed earlier this summer that she would no longer be on the show.
One thing fans can know for sure is that Ziva will not be following her predecessor's footsteps in her departure, as producers have revealed that Ziva will live. "It's not what this character deserves," executive producer Gary Glasberg said. "Also, [we killed off] Sasha Alexander's Kate character [back in Season 2] and I like the idea of doing this one a little different and respecting who [Ziva] is." This, naturally, opens the door for Ziva's return if the actress changes her mind and the network come to an agreement. "The greatest thing about this last episode is that Ziva doesn't die," said Cote de Pablo to TV Guide in an interview. "As long as a character doesn't die, the character can always come back. Not that it would actually matter, because we bring back characters from the dead all the time on 'NCIS!'" 'NCIS' Season 11 Spoilers Roundup: See 4 Leaked Details About The New Season Here!
One story arch that fans are eagerly waiting to see wrapped up is the Tiva (Tony + Ziva) romantic story arch. Actor Michael Weatherly told E! News that his character, Tony DiNozzo, and Ziva will be addressing their tension. "Even if you're a casual viewer of the NCIS, even if you've only seen one marathon on USA, this season premiere and the first couple episodes you're going to want to check out," said Weatherly. "Even if you hate Tiva [Tony + Ziva], even if you love the Tiva, if you're ambivalent, it's like a big Christmas stocking on Christmas morning." The actor has divulged a little more with TVLine, admitting that he was "very surprised by the things [he] read in [the first two] scripts" for Season 11." "I think that for DiNozzo and for me as an actor, that 'holding pattern' has been incredibly fun to play -- I love working with Cote, she's awesome -- but also it's been eight years, and we haven't dealt with it," added Michael Weatherly. "It will be dealt with," he promised. The actor also enthused that Tony's storyline following Ziva's departure is "the most exciting thing I've heard in a long time." Last week's episode revealed that Ziva was in Israel taking time off and was in communication with Tony. She told him he should come over (and that she was thinking about him!) and in turn, Tony purchases a plane ticket to go visit her in Israel. Unfortunately, a bomb leaves SecNav Jarvis dead and Homeland Senior Division Chief Morrow critically injured, which means Gibbs and the team need all hands on deck. They learn that an extremist by the name of Benham Parsa is responsible for the attack and that NCIS is the target to make sure they don't interfere in Parsa's plan. Their next target is none other than Ziva. Tony asks Adam Eshel for help to locate Ziva and when they go to her location, they find dead bodies, suggesting that Ziva was attacked and she has successfully escaped. With Ziva on the run, tonight's episode will entail Tony locating Ziva (alive) and bringing her to safety. The preview (see below) reveals that Tony does find Ziva and they will have a kiss!
