The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks face off on Sunday Night Football in one of the most anticipated games of the 2016-17 NFL season.

These two teams played one another in the Super Bowl not that long with the Patriots coming out victorious, 28-24. We all remember how it ended, on the 1-yard line with the Seahawks choosing not to run the ball and Russell Wilson throwing an interception.

New England Patriots (7-1)

The Patriots have the best record in the league, and this game won’t be played at a neutral site. Bill Belichick’s squad will be playing the Seahawks at home. The Patriots are the only team in the AFC East with a winning record, but they currently have their eyes set on capturing that No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Tom Brady (or any other Patriots quarterback) has yet to throw an interception this season so far thus giving them the No. 2 scoring offense in the NFL. Coming off a bye week, the Patriots should be fresh, but it will be very interesting to see how their defense plays without Jamie Collins, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns last week.

The biggest matchup to watch in this game will be the Patriots receivers and tight ends vs. the Seahawks secondary. Robert Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and Martellus Bennett will have their hands full against the Legion of Boom.

The Patriots will play the San Francisco 49ers next week.

Seattle Seahawks (5-2-1)

Talk about a roller coaster ride for Pete Carroll’s squad. In the last three games they’ve experienced a win, a loss and a tie. Last week they got an extremely controversial victory over the Buffalo bills, but a win is a win.

The Seahawks are in first place in the NFC West, but there are some flaws. The Seahawks offensive line is a concern among fans, and Russell Wilson hasn’t been very mobile. The biggest issue facing the Seahawks right now is their inability to run the ball as they rank a stunning 30th in rushing yards.

The Seahawks will play the Philadelphia Eagles next week.

Schedule

The Patriots and Seahawks will play each other on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. You can watch a live game stream here.

Prediction

This is a tough one. On paper the Patriots are the better team at the moment and they will be at home. The Seahawks need this game more because they have to have home-field advantage in the postseason with the Dallas Cowboys heating up. This should be a close game, but the lack of a consistent rushing attack will make the difference for the Seahawks.
