The Cleveland Indians are just three wins away from their first World Series championship since 1948. Cleveland’s NBA team, the Cavaliers, are after all the defending NBA Champions. But even all of that success can’t hide the big elephant in the room surrounding the status of Cleveland’s NFL team.

The Browns stink.

Jimmy Haslam’s club is so abysmal they’ve won just one of their last 18 games dating back to last season. The Only win for the Browns in the last calendar year was a 24-10 home win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14 of last season. The Browns have only made the playoffs one time since 1995 with zero playoff wins in the process. Ironically, the Browns last playoff victory came in 1995 against the New England Patriots when Bill Belichick was the head coach.

The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an expansion team, and the 2008 Detroit Lions are the only two clubs to ever go winless for an entire season in the Super Bowl era.

So, let’s talk 2016. The Browns are off to a predictable 0-7 start and it looks like 0-16 could actually happen. Only four of the Browns’ remaining games (vs. San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens) are against teams with winning records. It should also be mentioned that the Browns already played two of those teams (Ravens and Bengals) that have a losing record, and yes, the lost both of them.

The Browns have already played six different quarterbacks this year, by far the most in the NFL.

The most winnable game for the Browns could very well be their next- a game against the disappointing Jets at home. Ryan Fitzpatrick is back as the starter, the Jets secondary is extremely beatable, and maybe, just maybe, some of the Cleveland vibe from other sports will rub off on the Browns.
