Wait, what?

Yes, you read that correct. UFC star Conor McGregor actually played a role in the New York Giants defeating the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.

Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham attended UFC 205 to watch McGregor beat Eddie Alvarez, and apparently, it had a profound effect.

"I set the bar high for myself. I kind of had some late inspiration. I went to the UFC fight and I went there to watch McGregor and just a guy who is very strong in his beliefs and sure enough, he backs it up every time. Just sitting there watching him do his thing gave me more motivation,” Beckham said.

Beckham had another great performance for Big Blue with a game-high 10 catches, one touchdown and 97 receiving yards. The 24-year-old All Pro had twice as many catches as anyone else on the team as the Giants won, 21-20. The Giants are now 6-3, good enough for second place in the NFC East behind only the Dallas Cowboys.

"I usually go to things like that for inspiration. I like seeing guys in their atmosphere," who was seen at several Cleveland Cavaliers playoff games watching LeBron James earlier this year. Even when I was going to the US Open and I was watching them play tennis, it is just something about seeing someone else in their own zone and sure enough, after he won the fight, that was my first UFC fight ever and everybody is tweeting at me asking me why am I mad that he won. I am like, 'I came here to see him.' My mind is just wired differently," said Beckham.

You could make a strong argument that both Beckham and McGregor are the best at what they do in their respective sports.
