Oscar de la Renta has died at the age of 82 and the world of fashion mourns his loss. The acclaimed Dominican designer passed away with no cause of death revealed by his family. News of De La Renta's passing is only days after it was announced that Peter Copping was appointed Creative Director of the label. The legendary designer dressed many celebrities throughout the years and he recently dressed George Clooney's bride Amal Alamuddin for their wedding. The designer didn't shy away from controversy and raised his voice when Michelle Obama wore a J.Crew cardigan to meet Queen Elizabeth in 2009. "You don't...go to Buckingham Palace in a sweater," he told WWD.

Two years later he called out the POTUS again for wearing Alexander McQueen to a Chinese state dinner. He had an opinion and shared, "My understanding is that the visit was to promote American-Chinese trade — American products in China and Chinese products in America. Why do you wear European clothes?" The legendary fashion designer also dressed stars like Penelope Cruz, Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Kerry Washington, Sarah Jessica Parker and an endless list of A-list stars.
