The 88th edition of the Academy Awards will be hosted by Chris Rock on February 28. Oscars.org

Hollywood’s biggest night is almost upon us; cinephiles and fans have been waiting to see their favorites take the most prized statue home. But in general, there are so many more reasons to be watching the event; from exciting hosts, outstanding acceptance speeches, gorgeous gowns to viral social moments, the Academy Awards rarely disappoint. This year has frontrunners like Leonardo DiCaprio, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Disney’s “Inside Out,” and many more, but, as mentioned in our Oscars predictions, anything could happen! Check out our top 10 reasons to watch the ceremony on Sunday:

  1. The Red Carpet: If there’s a night where we can still bask in the glow of Hollywood glamour, it’s this one. Gowns can go from exquisite to horrendous but they’re all worth taking a look.
  2. The Host: This year, it’s Chris Rock’s turn to lead the ceremony, and, well, I think we all have a pretty good idea on what 90 percent of his jokes will be about. Should be good!
  3. The Opening Number: This is always the host’s chance to shine; whether it’s a musical, a parody or a monologue, most times it sets the tone for the rest of the night and gives a good flashback of the year in movies.
  4. The Presenters: We’re always curious to see who they pair up to hand out awards and show off their acting skills as they read from the teleprompter. We’ll have to see what they have in store!
  5. Leo’s Year: At this point, we think pretty much everyone’s rooting for Leonardo DiCaprio to take home the Best Actor Oscar, and he most likely will.
  6. Alejandro Making History: Iñárritu could potentially take the Best Director Oscar home, making him only the third director to take back to back awards.
  7. The Musical Performances: We’re excited to see performances from Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and David Grohl take the stage this year.
  8. Lubezki’s Third: The masterful cinematographer might just walk away with his third Academy Award for his work on “The Revenant.”
  9. Lifetime Achievement Award: Director Spike Lee is this year’s honorary but will not be attending the ceremony due to the “Oscars so white” controversy. We’re curious to see how they handle this.
  10. The Viral Moment: Ellen DeGeneres set the bar high in 2014 when she took the most shared selfie of all time and brought pizza for the starving A-listers in the room. Let’s see what Rock does this year!
