Fernando Colunga Returning To Telenovelas
Fernando Colunga is set to be returning to telenovelas soon and this time as a villain! Televisa

Fernando Colunga is one of the biggest telenovela stars in the world. The Mexican actor has starred in hit soaps like "La Usurpadora," "Esmeralda," "María La Del Barrio," "Amor Real," "Soy Tu Dueña" and many more. Colunga has been playing the leading man that is flawless, has a good heart and always does the right thing. His last appearance in the small screen was in "Porque El Amor Manda," where he played a man that had to pass himself as a secretary. The comedy was hilarious and Fernando showed us his funnier side. Now get ready to see the heartthrob in yet a different type of character... the villain! Can you imagine Fernando being the mastermind of everything evil and everything that goes wrong in a telenovela?

The telenovela star has surely seen how successful "Teresa" and "Rubí" were and wants a stake in portraying someone different. José Alberto Castro, the producer of the aforementioned production, is bring back "Pasión y Poder" to primetime. This soap is basically about two rival families that have their kids fall in love with each other, think "Romeo and Juliet." Colunga will be the lead character, but he will be the villain and manipulator, sort of like how Catalina Creel just took over "Cuna De Lobos." Actors and actresses have been auditioning for this new production at Televisa studios. Some of the lead actresses that have been casting are: Marjorie De Sousa ("Hasta El Fin Del Mundo"), Mayrín Villanueva ("Mi Corazón Es Tuyo"), Scarlet Ortiz ("Secreto De Amor"), Susana Gonzalez ("Amores Verdaderos"), Marlene Favela ("Gata Salvaje"), Paty Manterola ("Apuesta Por Un Amor") and many more.

Jorge Salinas is said to be confirmed as one of the lead characters and will rival Colunga's character. In the case of Marjorie De Sousa and Susana Gonzalez, they also auditioned for the villain role. Castro would have to see where they would fit in if they even end up staying in the production. Other actores that have been seen casting for other roles include Livia Brito ("Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse"), Michelle Renaud ("La Sombra Del Pasado"), Altair Jarabo ("Que Te Perdone Dios"), Andres Palacios ("Amor En Custodia"), Cynthia Klitbo ("El Privilegio De Amar"), Sabine Moussier ("Abismo De Pasión") and Nora Salinas ("Amores Con Trampa"). This "Pasión y Poder" remake would air following the "Lo Imperdonable" finale in México and should follow a similar scheduling pattern in the U.S. on Univision.
